Westgate Community Shop and Social Action Hub

Writer: Debra BakerDebra Baker

We have started this year working really hard to get funding for this work, we are hopeful we will achieve funding as this project will bring so many benefits to the communities of Westgate Ward in Gloucester.

Starting with developing a Community Pantry and working with local residents and organisations to engage with the communities of Westgate, we are aiming to provide a community shop and hub.

The community pantry will offer food support for local residents, ensuring they can access food at a reduced cost, and fresh veg provided by a local social enterprise - We are Project Grow. The shop will focus on store cupboard basics at reduced prices and residents who are pantry members will still be able to access food support.

We want to thank Gloucester City Homes for supporting this project and offering it a home, We are Project Grow for their offer of fresh veg for the pantry and local residents and organisations who have given us their time so far.
